Get to know me

Creative expression has always varitied through my life. As a young boy, I engaged in drawing contests with my older brother and cousins, ultimately earning the title of champion within our home. With a late uncle who worked in film and theater, the arts felt familiar; it was simply part of our family identity.
Everything shifted in a half-built house in Dar es Salaam.
Â
I encountered a photograph there that needed no words.
Though I couldn't read the English caption, Kevin Carter's haunting image of a vulture and a child stayed with me.
The profound impact of that moment only crystallized years later while I was working as a graphic designer. Feeling confined by office walls, I realised the camera was my true calling, and I chose to follow it.
Honest Imagery represents a strict discipline rather than a tagline. I avoid staging or performance in my work. Instead, I observe
and wait to capture life exactly as it unfolds naturally. My journey has led me from the Faraday taxi rank to rural towns in Tanzania, driven by a central inquiry: how do people maintain their dignity when resources are scarce?
My purpose extends beyond just taking pictures; I aim to create
a lasting legacy. I strive to produce a body of work that is exhibited, collected, and utilized by organisations dedicated to addressing social issues.
